Soccer

So here are my boys Spring Soccer pictures for the year and we're so happy that soccer season is over! However, that said they start soccer camps, swim lessons, tutoring sessions & scout camps all in the next few weeks so.... I guess no rest for the weary! Not to mention Chase is trying out for the select soccer team and tryouts start in a little less than a month. Thus the reason why "stay at home Moms" are never actually home! :) We are so proud of our boys though and can't help but make those sacrifices to see them succeed. They had another GREAT season!

Toddler road rage

Bridger may never be able to get his driver's license. Lately when we are driving and we are either stuck behind someone slow, or even stopped at a stop light for a long time I hear "GO!!!" from the only car seat still remaining in our car. He says this while pointing to the vehicle in front of us! This has got to be the youngest case of road rage ever! Interestingly he usually shouts this at the exact moment I am thinking it and mere moments before I would've shouted it myself.... I am definitely going to hell.

Confessions...

WARNING: If you are easily offended or meek of heart, please do NOT read this post!
I don't like to think of myself as "white trash " but I think everyone is a LITTLE bit! After all I do live in North Idaho, and my kids are on occasion a little raga-muffin-ish. ( I know that's not a real word. Yet another sign of the white trash in me!) Sometimes I don't get all the weeds out my flower beds as promptly as I should and Brandon just installed a car seat on the back of my 4wheeler. The signs are pretty obvious. However, the biggest sign of a white trash household has FINALLY been removed. On this momentous day, after months (and months, and months....) of nagging, my husband took down the Christmas Lights!!!! The worst part is, they were actually still turned on! The timer had broken and we couldn't turn them off. But yesterday when we finally got to turn on our sprinklers I think Brandon saw the light! It was pretty bad to have your Christmas lights on and the sprinklers running at the same time. :) I had threatened to get up there and do it myself, but you all know me well enough to know that was probably NOT a good idea as I am "a little clumsy" and would surely fall off the roof. So I figure today I'm about half as white trash as I was yesterday!

My cute family

We went on a hike/walk around Tubb's Hill on Sunday afternoon and I took a few pictures of all my cute boys in the place that is SO beautiful! Spring has finally come to us and reminded us why we moved here in the first place!

And such is life

I have a confession to make. I love updating my blog! Everyone wants to think there are people out there like them, and I get excited when people update their blogs so I like to think someone cares when I do. I imagine that you all are waiting with baited breath to hear what we are doing. Mind you I have an overactive imagination. :) I look at my friends and family blogs almost everyday hoping for updates. (maybe I have a little bit of stalker in me, I don't know)
Ok so now that that's out of the way... I am NOT busy enough! I tore the meniscus in my knee last Saturday and have had to spend a lot more time than I'd like sitting on my bum. I think I want to learn to knit and no I'm not joking! We've still had the usual soccer, scouts, house stuff that had to be done, and Brandon was host of an Elders Quorum BBQ on Thursday, but none of the other stuff that makes life interesting. I'm hoping next week I can get back to the norm since I don't feel like I need my crutches anymore. We'll see what happens when the pain meds wear off!:)
The boys and I went to this fun restaurant called Tomato Street
while Brandon did his Elders Quorum thing.Bridger got into Davin's deserted cereal this morning. It was pretty funny!
You will also notice Bridger is now without his hair. I've wanted to shave his head for awhile now but brandon was against it. However a couple days ago he discovered how to plug things in... namely the clippers that were in the bottom drawer in the bathroom. So by default I got my way! I guess Bridger's got my back!

More of the same

So not a whole lot of changes in the Harrison household, thus the lack of posts. We had our first soccer games of the season on Saturday and both boys did really great. This is a tough season for Davin because they change to a larger field, larger goals and playing actual positions at age 7. But he seemed to adjust ok. I got my car back from the bodyshop which was a relief since the rental car reaked of smoked! I don't know if I mentioned that my car got hit in the Wal-Mart parking lot... anyway it's fixed now. Other than that it's just the same old same old. Colors and fabrics and floor samples for the house. Taxes, scouts, soccer practices and FINALLY the gym! I couldn't go for about a month because of my sick kids and trip to UT and I'm finally getting back into the swing of it this week. Not much else worth mentioning so ta-ta for now!

Backgrounds

Ok so I'm not COMPLETELY technically challenged. I can usually figure out stuff on my computer, ipod, & cell phone. I can send and recieve text messages (which apparently "Mom's" don't do???) picture and video messages, all that stuff. However... I haven't been able to figure out how to put a pyzam Background on my blog without loosing all my links etc.. Anybody? I know a lot of you use them because I've seen them on your pages, but when i follow the instructions everything else disappears!!! Help!

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good: We got home from Utah on Friday night and we had a great visit! While it would have been fun to see EVERYONE I understand at this point that just isn't possible in one trip. We spent one day at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point and had a GREAT time!!!
They are pretending to be scared of the T-Rex above them

Playing at the erosion table

Riding a....?

We got together one day with a couple of my High School friends and their kids. Bridger and AJ were "dancing" ! It was SO cute, they'd try to dance and then fall. Then he would try to pick her up.
Carrie and her son Parker
Another night I went over to Brandon's sisters house and a few of the cousins came over. We had a good time playing "Mr. X" and Rock Band. (Which I suck at by the way!:)) Above is my super cute sister-in-law Karah and me.
Nate, Me, Dave, Karah, Marc & Devin. Devin's girlfriend Elisha took the picture.

Now for the bad: Both of my older boys are home sick today with super high fever's and achiness. Davin started feeling yucky Sunday morning and Chase started feeling it to on Sunday night. So now that we are home and I'm supposed to be catching up on all the things that pile up when you're out of town for a week, we are stuck at home!

And last but not least, the ugly!: Bridger had a low grade fever on the way home and now has what appear to be chickenpox! The other boys have already had it so no worries on that front. He is actually getting better and it doesn't seem to be itching him all that badly. It's just ugly!

The poxApparently Bridger was tired... he climbed up on his changing table (he can't get into his crib on his own) and went to sleep! We found him like this yesterday afternoon.

Our crazy life

Alright so I know it's been awhile since I updated (not that anyone cares :)) so I thought I'd post something. It's just that we've been SUPER busy, but not with anything all that interesting. Brandon's working like crazy and, thank heaven things have picked up significantly in the building industry. He actually went on an adventure to Mexico a couple weeks ago too. He went with my brother Gared and my brother-in-law Matt. They did all kinds of crazy stuff like bungee jumping, a jungle canopy zip-line tour, 4 wheeling and surfing. (I'm SO jealous!) Anyway they had a really great time.
In the meantime paint is starting on interior of our house today so I've been collecting samples and making final decisions on all the interior "stuff". Because the house is kind of meant to show what we can do, there are several different styles within the house. Which means I couldn't just choose one stain or paint color all the way through the house. I needed 4 stains & 6 paints but they all have to compliment each other as well so it doesn't look ridiculous. Anyway, between that, getting ready to go to Utah this weekend (hooray!!) , my photography class, Easter Brandon's Birthday, the pinewood derby which B and I handle for the most part, both of our cars going into the body shop (yes BOTH of our cars were hit within a 2 week period), which also led to us realizing all of insurance info needed updating, and soccer starting with 4 practices on 2 different fields per week, we've been a little crazy!
Anyway that's what's new for us! Here are a few pictures of B in Mexico

This is Matt, Brandon and Gared

House update

So the outside of the house is about done. There are a few details like paint touchup, and sealing the metal roofing (which will darken it so it's not so BRIGHT orange) that will need to be done last minute. But for the most part this is it. The interior should be getting paint in about a week or so, so it's progressing as well and we are excited about how it's looking!

Seattle

We went over to Seattle this past weekend for the frist time in quite awhile. Our friend Tex is being deployed for 7 months to the Persian Gulf so they were having a deployment party. I forgot how much I love that place! Maybe because on some level it's still "home" to me or maybe because we have firends there. Maybe it's just a cool city... who knows. Anyway I thought I'd throw a few pictures on here.
We went Pike's Place Market and the Tulips are up right now. Tulips are my favorite so I love the market that much more in the Spring! We also saw this man playing a saw... yes, you read that right. He was using a bow and playing "somewhere over the rainbow" on a hand saw. I tooka video but it's not very good quality.
The deployment party was at a Fun Center so this is us outside riding go-carts. It started raining in Seattle (that's wierd) and the trakc got all wet. There were about 14 of us so we were the only ones on the track and we turned our go-carts into something resembling bumper cars. It was awesome. We played Laser Tag too. I suck at it, but it was still good times.

My Kailee and Me at the party! Thanks for being such an amazing host, and playing with us all weekend!

I'm it...again

3. I enjoy all snacks except cheesey crackers, i.e. Goldfish, Cheese Nips etc.. My favorite right now is chocolate covered raisins. But I love baked lay's potatoe chips, natural cheetos, baby carrotts, snap peas, and fresh raw mango's, YUM! (Great now I'm hungry!)

ANOTHER update!

I know it's crazy how often I've been updating this week... I might be getting obsessed. Go figure. I just have to take back something I said a couple months ago. I complained that "all the beautiful snow" was being washed away in the rain. I TAKE IT BACK! Bring on the rain as long as the snow STOPS! I guess I got spoiled with our week in the Caribbean (We all know I'm spoiled, that's nothing new:)) but I'm so ready for winter to be over! I think it will probably take months for the mounds of snow to melt off and just when I think it's actually going to start it snows...AGAIN!
In other news, the house is coming along GREAT! I wish you all could see it in person, it's always different that way. Sheetrock is in and taped and the heat got turned this week so now they are mudding. The exterior is almost done minus a few pieces of siding. I'll post pictures when they are up. Anyway it's really beautiful and we've decided we are indeed going to put it in the Parade of Homes. Anybody who wants to come see is welcome.

10 years and counting...

Happy Valentine's Day to all! Some of you know that today is our 10th anniversary, and that Brandon would say aomething to the effect of "could be 10, could be 10,000,000....". I'm not going to get all smooshy, I'm just going to say that I would do it all over again as long as we ended up in the same place we are today. And I think that really says it all!

Bag Tagged

OK, So I was bag tagged by my friend nicole. What is bag tag you ask? Well you take a picture of your bag, empty it out and take another picture...no cleaning it out first!! Then you post it on your bolg. Then you tag 5 people. Easy right? So here is mine. I will list everything just for you!!

Alright we have diaper and wipes pouch, 1"lovey", 4 binkies, car, 3 hair clippies and one hair band, phone, 2 reciepts, 3 pens, orange crayon, 2 chapstick, 1 lipgloss, powder, ipod, glasses, sippy cup, (with apple juice) planner, checkbook, lotion, tampon and the camera I took the pictures with. I'm such a Mom!
So I tag, Yolanda, Cynthia, Mikelle, Amy & Britton. (And anyone else who feels like it!)

Finally a few pic's from our trip!

So this isn't all of them, just a few I got from Jon & Amanda. I'm hoping to get the ones from Jenny & Jared pretty quick and I'll post those when I get them.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Nope, no pictures yet

Still no pictures, I know. I should be able to get the disc from Jon & Amanda today so I might even be able to put some up this afternoon, depending on the way the day goes. But I wanted to report that the fine people (or more appropriately fine person, Pete) at United came through for me and while he wasn't able to track down specifically my camera with my pictures, I did get A camera exactly like mine, back. Just with an empty memory card. So sad, but at least I will have the pictures our travelmates took to preserve a few memories.
I also yesterday, very sadly finally washed and put back in storage my summer clothes that I took on the trip. I know your all thinking "It took you a week? I thought you claimed to be a clean freak?"
1. Do not mistake "clean" for "organized". While my house is usually very clean, don't look in the closets or under the bed. :)
2. My washing machine broke 2 days before we left. (Of course perfect timing as usual!) So I ran to laundromat, the only non-scummy one I could find the day before to get everything in order. We only just repalced it on Wednesday.
Anyway, I very sadly tucked away my swim suits and cover ups and ended up sending a bunch of them to the Goodwill pile because after we got on the boat I discovered many of them were now too big. A good problem to have in my opinion! At any rate I won't be needing them anytime soon. For those of far away, we have had a record snowfall this year and the piles probably won't melt off untill August! We are currently at something like 142 inches for the year so far and it's only Feb. The previous record was 126 inches for the year set in 1915. They actually canceled several days of school while we were gone, and they NEVER do that!!! So needless to say our little break in the sun was well timed!
Anyway that's all I've got for now! I will post those pictures as soon as I can get them!

We regret to inform you...

Whenever someone starts a sentence that way, you get that gut feeling you'd better prepare yourself. Over the last 3 days since we got home, I've probably heard that phrase 100 times!!! The trip was AMAZING!!! Only problem... I lost my brand new digital camera (as in, we bought it in Miami on the way) on the airplane on the way home! It was in my carry-on and I think it must have fallen out on the flight from West Palm Beach to Chicago. So I've spent countless hours on the phone with about a million different United representatives trying to track it down, yet all of the conversations end with the aforementioned phrase. I've files about 10 different missing item reports and am still calling Ohare about every 2 hours and leaving yet another message!!! Anyway, the people we were with took lots of pictures too so as soon as I get some of those I'll post them and tell you more about our trip. Wish me luck! (I think I'm REALLY going to need it to get it back at this point!!!)
